In the initiative of the Coordination Center BFR-Management Berlin, financed through the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation, the European University Viadrina organizes an initiative conference for the preservation, development and cultural touristic use of the common cultural heritage „Historical Fortress Monuments“.

81 participants from 12 countries met in Slubice to consult with each other about the future of the fortresses in Europe, to establish new contacts as well as to build new cooperations and networks. Additional exhibitions inform about the situation in single fortresses in Europe as well as about the work of institutions and associations in the topic of fortresses.

• Working Group 1: Strategies of transnational culture routs and development impulses for the fortress monuments in Germany and Poland
• Working Group 2: Deepening of the German-Polish cooperation, integration of transnational cooperation forms and development of instruments for the common preservation, development and cultural touristic use of the common cultural heritage ”Historical Fortress Monuments“ in Germany and Poland
